Fat Flush Diet: General Information
The Fat Flush Plan or the breakthrough weight-loss system that melts fat and reshapes your body while detoxifying your system came from Ann Louise Gittleman’s pen in 2001.
Holding a Ph.D. degree in holistic nutrition and a master's degree in nutrition education, Ann Louise Gittleman is a Certified Nutrition Specialist. Nowadays she is known as the first lady in nutrition for her active position in fighting weight. Ann Louise published 25 books, distributed in more than 3 million copies. She is also known as a popular columnist, TV and radio shows participant.
In 1993 Ann Louise Gittleman was named as one of the top ten nutritionists in the USA.
The key emphasis of the Fat Flush diet at the human liver detoxification as the true way to improve metabolism and ensure weight loss makes the Ann Louise’s plan out of the traditional diet classification. However, most experts agree that after all it is just one of the low-calories diets. Though the initial phase of the program is designed in a low-carb manner, the next stages of the Fat Flush diet recommend 40/30/30 ratio in carbohydrates, proteins and fat consumption, which makes it close to the Zone Diet.
The initial basics of the Fat Flush diet were formed in 1988, when Ann Louise revealed the low effectiveness of low-fat, high-carb diets, widely promoted at that time. Working in the Pritikin Longevity Center, Ann Louise saw that many of the extremely low-fat Pritikin diet followers could not reach success in fighting excessive body weight. So, she suggested another approach to dieting, based on the idea that it is healthier to choose right fats instead of complete restriction of them. At that time the book “Beyond Pritikin” was authored by Ann Louise Gittleman.
After that several books were written by Ann Louise to enlighten certain aspects of nutrition, such as the role of salt and sugar in one’s daily ration or the phenomenon of 40/30/30 ratio. The Fat Flush Plan book was published in 2001, followed by a cookbook (2002) and a shopping guide (2002). In 2005 “The Fast Track ONE-DAY Detox Diet” book appeared as the most recent collection of detoxifying ideas from Ann Louise.
The main target of the Fat Flush Plan is to cleanse the liver – the largest and the most versatile organ of the body, which plays the most essential role in weight loss, according to Ann Louise.
There are five major aspects the Fat Flush deals with: liver health, food sensitivities and resulting waterlogged tissues, fear of eating fat, excess insulin or excess inflammation, and stress. The key idea of the Fat Flush Plan is to reveal those aspects and correct them through the cleansing combination of essential fats, balanced proteins and quality carbohydrates.
The Fat Flush Plan is designed to become a lifelong program, ensuring the required weight loss and maintaining the target weight of a person during his whole life. On the other hand, the Fat Flush diet has three definite phases: The Two-Week Fat Flush to cleanse one’s organism and boost weight loss, The Ongoing Fat Flush to achieve one’s target weight, and, finally, The Lifestyle Eating Plan to keep the weight under control and improve health.
What improvements are declared by the diet?
Some dieters report about shedding up to 12 inches out of the waist during the first 14 days of the Fat Flush Plan. However, the main improvement declared by Ann Louise is the diet ability to cleanse human organism and flush all the excessive fat out of the body.
